Cubs, ( Baby snow leopards) are usually born between April and June and are usually born in a rocky den. Litter sizes are about from one to five bubs but two or three are the most common. The cubs are blind at birth but, they already have a thick coat of fur. when they are born they have full black spots and turn into rosettes as they grow up. They weigh from 320 to 900 grams.The cubs leave the den at the age two to four months but they usually stay with their mother til around 18–22 months. When they are finally go away they may go a myriad of distances.
Snow leopards are carnivores and actively hunt, they are like normal cats. They can kill prey three times their size but will take much smaller prey like a rabbit or a bird. Snow leopards also eat vegetation sometimes like grass. The diet of the leopard changes throughout the year because of the preys living style. In the Himalayas the leopards mostly eat Himalayan blue sheep. Other large animals that the leopard may eat includes the goat, the sheep, the boar, and the monkey. Some of the smaller animals they will eat is hares, some rodents, and birds. Humans have to kill snow leopards to protect their live stock, which is illegal. No reports have been reported of human killing by snow leopard. In general they are calm, willing to leave the kills, and not willing to defend themselves.
